4-H CAMPS

Are you looking for adventure this summer?  Madison County 4-H offers a variety of camps over the summer just for you.  So come join in all the fun and meet new people. 

 

Day Camp Adventures

Are you kids looking for something to do during the summer that is full of adventure?  Then come join us this summer for various Day Camp Adventures at the Madison County Extension Office.

For the year 2008 we will have the following Day Camp Adventures:

Photography - June 2 - 5, 2008
  Ages:  8 and Up (child must be 8 prior to September 1, 2007)
  Limited: Available to the 1st 20 children that sign up and pay
  Price:  $30 per child
  Time:   8:00 AM - 3:00 PM
  Lunch:  Please pack a sack lunch, we will provide snacks
  Children should wear comfortable clothing and closed toe shoes (No Sandals or Flip-flops) Monday - Wednesday. On Thursday, June 12th children need to bring a bathing suit, towel, and sun-screen; we will be going to Cherry Lake Beach or Lanier Water Park to play in the water.

Children will Learn and Experience the Following:

  • Learn how to use and operate a mini digital camera
  • Learn about the joys of being a professional photographer.
  • Take pictures of child's interest and print them.
  • Create a photo book for their favorite photos.

Sewing - July 7 - 9, 2008
  Ages:  8 and Up (child must be 8 prior to September 1, 2007)
  Limited:    Available to the 1st 12 children that sign up and pay
  Price:  To be announced at a later date.
  Time:   9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  Lunch:  No lunch, we will provide snacks.
 
Children will be doing the following:

  • Use sewing machines to do a project
  • More information to come soon.

Nature & Insects - July 14 -17, 2008
  Ages:  8 and Up (child must be 8 prior to September 1, 2007)
  Limited:   Available to the 1st 20 children that sign up and pay
  Price:  $35 per child
  Time:   8:00 AM - 3:00 PM
  Lunch:  Please pack a sack lunch, we will provide snacks.

  • Will be using the new NFCC Science Building
  • Learn how to use microscopes to view insects and various nature items
  • Experience a nature walk

Camp Cherry Lake - June 16 - 20, 2008

Camp Cherry Lake will be held this year in June 2008.  So campers start gearing up for a great outdoor adventure at Camp Cherry Lake.  This event is open to all children ages 8 - 18 (must be 8 prior to September 1, 2007), teenagers from ages 13 - 18 will be camp counselors in training or camp counselors.  CAMP PACKETS ARE NOW AVAILABLE!!!  COME IN TO RECEIVE ONE OR CALL US TO GET ONE MAILED TO YOU.

Dates to Remember:

  • May 14th Camp Deposit ($50) due by 5PM
  • May 31st MANDATORY Camp Counselor Training at Ocean Pond, Baker County
  • June 3rd Camper Orientation at Madison County Extension Office
  • June 4th ALL Camp money is due
  • June 16th Madison Campers meet at Madison County Extension Office to leave for Camp
  • June 20th Campers return to Madison County Extension Office at Noon
